New Year, New me? Hello 2021

Happy New Year!

Or New year, same me?

Happy new year guys!

I hope you have a fruitful and successful year!

What does the new year symbolize?

The chance to start anew- make new goals that cater to your growth. Check this on how to make goals. It helps to break down the goals into different departments.

I’ll share mine:
• I want to increase mass to my lower body- how will I do this? I will lift heavy weights (lunges, squats, leg press, hack squat) and eat more!
• I want to save more money! How will I do this? Budget. I will set up a standing order. When I get my paycheck, I will aim to save 60% of my income each month.

To form a new habit, it takes 21 days. So why not start now?

Let’s celebrate that we made it to 2021!

Yes, we need to celebrate this accomplishment because we all know how draining 2020 has been.

Many people have lost loved ones. Millions of people’s mental wellbeing have been impacted. Mine included. I made use of mental health services available and had CBT sessions. Click here to read about my experience.
Although it was taxing, try to count your blessings.

If you are reading this, you have access to the internet; that’s a blessing right there!

2020 in review

I started my YouTube channel!
This was a big deal for me. I was scared and put it off for YEARS due to self-doubt and lack of confidence. I wasn’t ready but can you ever be ready? So, I did it and I am not looking back.

I completed my master’s degree! If I’m honest, I struggled with this degree. I was overwhelmed with work, volunteering, placement on top of my own university work. It was a lot. I could have done better but in hindsight, I completed my degree at home during a pandemic.

My mental wellbeing was impacted, but I did it! I need to give myself more credit!

My blog has grown! I never wanted to give up, but I didn’t see the growth that I wanted to, so I wasn’t encouraged to write great posts. I appreciate all who check out my blog. I will continue to work on it and make amazing posts for you regarding personal development.

What I hope for 2021

To Increase my confidence- Part of me knows that I can be more. I can do more. Right now (at the time of writing this), I feel that I am at 40% of my potential.8 I hold myself back and I feel weird when it comes to promoting my own work. I need to move past it if I want to challenge myself and see growth.

Speak out– This links to the point I made prior, but it also relates to speaking out in my personal life. I can be a bit of a pushover in some aspects. I don’t like confrontation, and I like to help people who can create awkward situations. I do things for people that make me uncomfortable, but instead of standing up for myself. I do things that do not aid to my wellbeing and makes me feel worse after the fact. This year I am going to state my boundaries, and I hope people respect and understand them.

Reach my goals– Due to the virus, some of my goals were unmet.

Goals for 2020

I wanted to attend more events/workshops, and some were cancelled. This time, I am going to ensure that my goals are SMART. Taking steps daily or weekly to ensure that goals are met is imperative. If you are waiting for the gym to open to being active, it may discourage you if you have to wait longer than anticipated. You can start at home; home workouts are available at your fingertips. Write your fitness. I place my goals in eyesight, right by my bedside, and every time I feel a little discouraged, I just read my goals to keep me motivated and determined to keep going.

Of course, we can all make changes to enhance the quality of our lives but you do not need to change your whole personality! Oo noo
You are great the way you are!

You can’t be a ‘new you’ with the same mindset as the old you, it just won’t work!

I wish you guys health and wellness this coming year. Please incorporate SELF CARE as often as you can. Be kind to yourself and I pray that this year will be fruitful in every way.
You are a light; you are strong and powerful. Don’t dull your shine for anyone.

Keep pushing, keep going!

Your blessing is coming

Thank you for reading.
