Are you finding it hard to manage your time effectively?
As we are slowly finding the new normal; going back to work and meeting up with our loved ones, it may become all too much as once.
If you would like to know tips and tricks on how to manage your time like a boss keep reading!
Time management enables us to block out bits of time to accomplish tasks on our to do list. We all have the same amount of time a day. Yes, Oprah and Beyoncé have 24 hours too.
In order to level up and make sure that you manage time like a boss you’ve got to go back to the basics:
Make a to-do list (And put it in order):
If you are still at home (like me) you want to make sure that you achieve your daily tasks consistently in order to make sure you don’t let things build up and you end up with a mountain of things to do.
If you need help writing, your list and making sure it is achievable check out my other post on helpful tips on goal setting.
At the beginning of each day, or at the end of each day; whichever you find best, make a to do list for the day or following day.
List of things you need to do starting with the essentials and working your way down to the things you would like to complete during the day.
If you have an assignment that you need to write, make that number one. I know it’s hard but try not to procrastinate as it could create more stress.
Then make a list of things you should do i.e. laundry, don’t worry too much if you can’t complete everything in one day just make sure you start with the important stuff. Move the unimportant stuff to the next day but move it up the list.
Time block:
When creating your to-do list, it will be worthwhile to dedicate a time slot for each activity. This helps me to stay organized and to make sure that I take breaks.
For example, I usually work on my dissertation between 11-3. I’ll stop for lunch and breaks to make my work more manageable and to not make myself too overwhelmed.
Schedule in some much-needed me-time:
If you are like me, you like to stay busy and sometimes I forget to eat. I understand that we may get work moods and we just want to complete all that we can but don’t forget to have some wind-down time. Before bed, I like to read, meditate and journal. I aim to go to bed as peaceful and stress-free as possible in order to get good’s nights rest.
Keep a diary:
SO many appointments, important dates and things to do? Make sure you write it all down and check it at least once a day to ensure you don’t miss everything. Having visual aids as reminders help!
Love these tips! I’ve been struggling with time management lately, so I will definitely try out the time blocking technique. Thanks for sharing!
