Wellness and Fitness: 365-day challenge

Wellness should be a priority!

What is the 365-day challenge?

This challenge will consist of catering to your wellbeing every single day of 2021. Yes, every single day. Wellness will include doing everything to uplift you and make you feel good.

What does the challenge involve?

During this challenge, I will show you guys what I do to keep my vibrations high and/or raise them when I feel low. Things that you can expect to see:

My fitness journey- Due to the virus, gyms are closed, so I have done home workouts. We’ve got to remain active! I’ve posted a leg day workout on my Instagram using bodyweight and resistance bands only. My workouts will also consist of cardio and HIIT (high-intensity interval training) and yoga.

What I eat- I have a well balanced, vegan/vegetarian diet. I shouldn’t say diet; I eat like this all the time, so I’ll say lifestyle. I eat things to fuel me and to make me feel good. I try to save my cheat meal for the weekend, but I am not super-duper strict with what I eat.

Also, I am counting my calories (as I believe that I am not eating enough protein, so I will monitor it). This can be triggering for some. Please do so at your own discretion. I am not a doctor or medical professional. These things work for me, and the results differ from person to person.

Morning routine- When I wake up, I meditate and practice visualisation. I’ve been meditating for a while, and it helps me with my anxiety. I also read my affirmations. Affirmations are so important. It would help if you spoke positively towards ourselves. We need to uplift ourselves, and if you join me, I’ll show you how.

Where can I see this?

I post regular updates on my Instagram @confidantcandy; I am trying to hold myself accountable, so I’ll make a habit to do this every day.

What if I cant do this everyday?

That is ok! We are not going to be in the best mood every single day. It’s just impossible. If you are not feeling 100%, acknowledge it. Please don’t feel pressured to save face. Even if I’m not feeling the best, I’ll try to write how I feel in my journal. That way I’m expressing myself one way or another.

If you are super busy, try to set aside at least 5 minutes a day to work on your wellbeing. You can use the 5 minutes to practice mindfulness, journaling, meditation and deep breathing. You can say your affirmations. Why not stretch for 5 minutes? Stretching can ease depression as well as relieve stress.

If you need to take a break, that is fine too! Be mindful of your emotions and do what is best for you.

Why do we need to take our wellbeing seriously?

We all know how 2020 was. Stress and anxiety have been high, and mental health services are used now more than ever. I have been on edge due to all that is going on around me. Although I had CBT sessions, I have to continue to do all that I can to make myself feel better. Working on yourself has no expiration date; it’s a never-ending job. By working on our wellness, we can expect to see many benefits:

  • Enhance your wellbeing and self-esteem.
  • Have better relationships with others
  • Have the ability to manage stress

One of my goals for 2021 is to up my self-care, and so far, I can say I have been doing so. I haven’t been working for a few months now. So I will work my hardest to cater to my wellness when my schedule is busy.

To my readers, who have a busy schedule, how do you include self-care into your daily routine? I would love to know.

Thank you for reading and take care.

XO
